blackberry pearl and Java?

Question

I recently purchased a blackberry pearl for cingular and when going to some websites using my blackberry browser it says i do not have javascript enabled. when going through my browser configurations, javascript box is checked. am i supposed to download something? Can someone please help with this issue?

The browser on the pearl for some reasons doesn't quite utilize Java well. However, there is another browser that works relatively well it's called OperaMini I've provided a link that will direct you to a download
