Be a linebacker/fullback and learn to knock people over the walls in BOTH positions :P :)
no.. go out and request a shot during training camp... they'll watch you up until then and then they'll watch your closer in camp
work your butt off and get it done.
ps - to the guy above.. you do NOT have to be good enough to get into the NFL or they'd be in the NFL not the AFL... but you have to be a great football player

Many players after there college careers dont have what it takes to make it in to the NFL or when former NFL players dont get hired by any teams(most players fall under this category). So there is a second option join a AFL team or quit football all together.I believe you can be interveiwed for a position on the team, I know for sure that my local AFL team has open tryouts. It might be different for every team.

The Arena League requires quickness. QBs have to have a quick release (for example Clint Dolezel's wrist flick). Everybody else has to be agile because the Arena game is much faster than the outdoor game.
Kurt Warner never won a Championship in Arena Football (he once came short 4 times at the end of a game from the 1, which is ironic considering that Steve McNair came 1 yard short against him in Super Bowl XXXIV).

the AFL and NFL are totally different...the NFL is all explosion...1 play 30 second break abother play...the AFL requires more conditioning...thats y u dont see 300+ pound lineman the biggest they usually get is about 275...since the field is smaller speed is not quite as important...its all acceleration...work on acceleration and endurance n ull have a shot in arena football

i know the Austin Wranglers, where I live, had tryouts. You have to pay like $75 or something.... Just look up a team closest too you... I was on the Wranglers mailing list and they emailed me a date, saying when and where the tryouts would be....
