I'm a woman, and no, I do not find that kind of thing attractive. But I'm not going to say that you need to change your image, because you are who you are.

Big Gold Chains

If you dress like a pimp, you're going to attract hos.

Your image at the moment says: "I've got a lot of money and I like spending it." Which means you're probably a magnet for shallow people and gold-diggers.

If you want your image to attract the right sort of person, you can change it pretty easily. Just think about what the sort of girl you want might be looking for. I don't agree with the people here who say your image is part of your personality. No, it isn't. We're talking about taking off a few gold chains and rings, not changing your soul.

I personally don't think big gold chains are sexy. I would imagine the person who wears big gold chains to be a very gangster person with grills. :) I personally don't like gold at all, I would prefer silver. Anywho, if the purpose of you wearing big gold chains is to attract women, and you're attracting the wrong type of women, well then I guess the obvious thing to do is to change or stop wearing big gold chains.

Wow I can't believe how similar all the answers are - and I'm just going to agree with them.

My boyfriend occassionally wears a watch and, when he's not at work a plain titanium ring I bought him for our 4th anniversary (it's a wedding band really, but I just liked the look of it!).

I think you need to consider what "type" of woman you want. It's no good stopping wearing tacky jewellery for 3 months, find a nice girl and then repulse her by starting to wear it again. If you like wearing it, as you say you do - you should continue to wear it...

Nah, I personally think that it makes men look like pimps, or that they are stuck in the 80's. You aren't wearing parachute pants are you? Just kidding. :)

I think that if you are looking for a relationship, you should not wear gold chains. I don't know what type of guy you are, but my friends and I think that the only acceptable jewelry is as follows:

a. Natural jewelry- this is those hemp and charm necklaces that you see surfers wearing, or Abercrombie jerks. It is usually woven hemp or some natural fiber with a charm like a cross or St. Christopher medal on it

b. Chains- Unless it is extreme bling-age, don't wear it. People will probably think it is fake diamonds or gold. Most people just look obnoxious with massive necklaces that look like spinners or basketballs. Acceptable chains are usually dark metals, and are paired with other necklaces, like a dark cross or thin metal strands.

c. Other- Nobody is going to bum on you if you are wearing a cross or a Star of David. Leather strands with shark's teeth on them or fake tiger claws are totally 8th grade.

big gold chains is a personal hate of mine. all the men i have met who seem to wear those come across as very arrogant and think they are fantastic when really there is not a lot going for them even if they think there is. I'm not saying this is all men who wear big gold chains, I'm sure you are a lovely guy, but due to the past experiences i steer clear. unfortunately its hard to forget opinions already formed even if they don't match that of the person.

The big chains are NOT sexy ok? Silver, yellow or white gold, it doesn't matter - put them away!
A ring or two, that is hot but a man that carries himself confidently is a bigger turn on than any jewelry. I don't mean egotistically either - just a nice balance of security and confidence is really nice.

I personally don't think big gold chains are sexy... at all. They look so big and menacing like your a gangster/pimp/drug dealer/thug. I'm not being stereotypical but it's true and if it doesn't make you look like one of those then it just makes people look like they're trying to impress someone. Maybe you should wear small gold chains but no more than two. If you don't like it then go back to being yourself. Or maybe your not being yourself but following the media. I don't know but try to be yourself.

No...sorry, you put across the "pimp" image...which usually sends the "right type of girls" running. A smaller chain and maybe a white gold. Rings can be sexy, as long as they aren't flashy, just a simple band....(Not a wedding band on the ring finger :))
