Well, I hate it, because i'm a kid, and for kids, (unless u are Irish or something) the only thing you do is wear green. If u don't wear green, u get pinched, and HARD!!
If you are an adult, u probably love st.patty's day because of the partying at bars and green nachos and drinks.

Hey Alex, Got your Irish Up? I love it because I am of Irish decent. Why don't you try to organize a St. Patrick's day kid's party. Search your local library or the net to find games for kids that are popular in Ireland. Invite some friends over and play these games. What a great way to learn about the culture of others. You can get food colouring and drink green cool aide or whatever type of drinks you like. Wear something green. Set up a fake blarney stone and have your friends try to kiss it. those who succeed can have a kiss-off with the final winner getting a prize. I know you can think of other fun things to do. Get your friends and parents to help. Have Fun!

I'm not a big fan of any holiday where people don't know what they are celebrating (which is most of the green beer bar crawling crew). St. Patrick would be turning over in his grave if he saw that the birth of Catholicism in Ireland was actually being celebrated in such a Pagan way.
I think most people just want to DRINK...and need an excuse to do it...

I am an adult and I love it. Why?? Not because of the bars..I don't green. BEcause its one of the few holidays that you have to shop for. You just have fun and try to think of as many green things you can.

I used to love Patty's day when I was a kid. When I woke up in the morning my parents would hide gold coins in my room and I'd have to go and find them. And for lunch my mom would make me cream cheese crackers and the cream cheese would be green and all the kids at school thought it was gross.
Patty's day isn't fun when you're 19, because you can't go out and drink, and your parents don't leave gold coins for you in your room anymore =(

I LOVE it. i am irish american and the history of ireland facinates me. I also go to a school with a HEAVY latino population so i'm the only white girl there. it's fun to go all out on that day and get to pinch everyone else cuz they aren't wearing any.

Its sad because alot of these idiots partying and drinking have no idea who St. Patrick is.
Its just an excuse for people to get drunk and wear green. I've done my share of it.

I love it because it seems to be one of the few holidays when everybody enjoys themselves and don't argue about whether it is politically correct.
