It depends on the theater and the commercial success of the movie. The way the theater contracts work, most theaters don't get any portion of the ticket sales for the first two weeks of showing for a new movie. That's why they have expensive food.
After two weeks, they get a share. This means that it's in a theater's financial interests to play a movie for longer than three weeks if it is making enough money in ticket sales to justify having a theater dedicated to it.

I hope not too very much longer. This movie is TERRIBLE!! I saw in an interview with Eddie Murphy that this was his last role playing multiple characters in a movie, and in my opinion, The Nutty Professor should have been the last. This one shouldn't have even come into existence!
