Hi, my name is Philip.
I just moved from Europe and now I live in Michigan...
I grew up with graffiti, here's the thing I started art when I was about 4 and by the age of 10 I started sketching and by the age of 11 I started graffiti,........................ and still doing it.
Thats what people are nowadays.. selfish or self concerned or clueless... they only see illegal graffiti... usually to represent a CREW not a gang .. but possible.
i see myself as an artist and other do to... but the only time someone will call me gangster is when I have a gun in my hand and I am drawing weird symbols on a wall that mark my gangs turf (which will never happen)

There is a big difference between taggers and graffitti artists. Taggers are called taggers because they tag their turf with their gang's symbols. They are in no way artistic. The true graffitti artists are much more sophisticated in style and produce highly colored works of urban art.

A "tagger" is doing graffiti for a gang purpose. That is a CRIME.
People that can do graffiti as an art form, they have an incredable talent.
It is all in how they choose to use it.

A gangster is a gang criminal.
Taggers and graffiti artist are 2 different things.
Taggers are ''more'' gangsta and usually write offensive things on the wall of stores and such or tag the name of their gang.(indicating the area is under this gang's control)
Graffitti artists: usually do it on an allowed space. When done on a store it is because they have been paid to do so. They will not usually risk breaking the law and their graffitties are more artistic, usually drawings and not writing.

Because, generally speaking, they are.
In Southern California, vandals mark up public property to mark their territory. There are always exceptions to every rule.
The bottom line is that it is vandalism, and it is a crime. Turn that talent into profit. Have you ever visited Las Vegas? There are people on the street that will paint using spray paint, and do an amazing job!!!

Because ''tagging'' is criticized as a juvenile act and is sometimes done irresponsibly by destroying people's property.
Graffiti though, can be a beautiful thing, as long as you respect not ''tagging'' on property that does not belong to you.
