Takes blow by from the crankcase and vents it into the intake to be burned and exhausted.

The pcv valve is used to pull engine blow by into the intake to be burnt so your not polluting the air with oil smoke. It works off the vacuum the engine produces . It also releaves crankcase pressure so the engine's not fighting the pressure as the pistons cycle through their down stroke

Positive Crankcase Ventaltion valve all it does is suck out the waste gas and small amounts of gasoline that get past the pistion rings and into the crank case. the PCV valve sucks the air out of the crank case and "pushes" into the intake. it sounds unimportant but without it gas would build up in the crank case and eventully combust blowing the oil pan off the enige.

It regulates the air-intake to your engine. Must keep it clean or replace once in a while Affects gas consumption!
