Part of the function of a septic tank is evaporation through the surface of the ground. IF you decide to put a concrete patio over your septic, I would dig another septic somewhere else first and retire the one you want to cover. If you don't you'll be digging another one anyway because the one you covered isn't going to work right after you cover it.

Just hope to heck you don't have to dig up your septic tank. If you put much wt. on a septic tank, the lid can crack/cave in. Also - you'll need to treat it monthly to lessen the chance of having to pump it very often. I'd rethink the patio location. Concrete is awful heavy. If you can't park a car on a septic tank, I would not put concrete on it.

Yes, as long as your septic tank is made of a strong material. You will need access to your septic tank......so don't forget about that. As long as you don't drive on your patio, you should be fine.

Double check your town and state regulations. Some states may have certain regs about what can be close, let alone over your septic tank.
Good luck.

Previous answers are sensible. If the septic tank is made of wood (some older ones are), sorry -- no patio.

I have two older brothers and as a kid they warned me about the creatures that lived under them. Trolls and Jelly Monsters that waited for someone to step too close so they could leap out and take them down for dinner. For years I avoided manholes for this reason. There was one in the lane behind our house that I avoided like a plague.
