Yeah, I would've thought the same thing, but it's wrong. Universe is from Latin universum, from neuter of universus entire, whole, from uni- + versus turned toward, from past participle of vertere to turn. "Entire" or "Whole + "Turned Toward".

Largely ignore it. None of the major creationist organization even address this point, which runs far, far deeper than dinosaurs. The strata separate complete ecosystems. Not just extinct giant reptiles, but extinct plants, birds, mammals, insects, fungi, ect. Everything. All in a very distinct pattern. More 'primitive' organisms are lower without fail. Edit: Actually a single flood event would create a single layer. A gradient, with larger particles at the bottom. Not several thousand layers with perfect sorting of fossils. That screams many, many separate events over long spans of time. Look, do the experiment yourself (something creationist never do). Put different kinds of debris and dirt in a container and shake it violently while adding water, or anything else you want to do to it. You will always get a single layer. Simple physics. You will never get magic sorting of fossils that appears in the geologic column. All other attempts by creationist to explain it fail miserably. Density of different phyla? Why are modern amphibians always found above ancient ones? Intelligence? 'Smarter' animals run away from water better. Idiotic. All animals will try not to drown. This also doesn't explain that pattern that carries over to plants as well. And not once has a human or any other modern animal ever been found in the same strata as a dinosaur. Such a discovery would shatter all of modern biology. And it has not occurred.

"Verse" derives from "versus" which means to turn.
I don't think verse means spoken sentence, because a poem or bible verse doesn't need to be spoken to be considered a verse ...
Didn't God say "let there be light" and there was light?

Could be, but one thing's for sure: There's no period at the end of it.
