Yes, you should have bought a phone on PAYG instead of contract. Contracts are for people who use their phone a lot to ring FRIENDS mainly. If you have no one to call, and you just want a mobile for emergency's then you should buy a different phone on PAYG which will cost you less in the long run as you won't be paying mothly amounts of money which will (in the end) total up to a much higher sum than it would if you'd actualy BOUGHT the phone.
I can't see the point in contracts anyway!

So why get the contract - seems a bit pointless to me the more you have on your contract the more you pay, why pay more if you have no friends to call - which is sad really, you should have a pay as you go phone cheaper in the long run

why dont you call your service provider and explain this to them, they may give you a different tarrif that is more suitable.
