I have found the following helps (with period re-enactment, singing, and speaches in my experience): hot lemon tea; somehting with lots of vinegar (ie: salad dressing); honey and hot whiskey (of course, depending on your age); and a steam shower (or humidifier if you have one). NOT talking, singing, especially yelling - giving your voice box a bit of a break - can do amazing things! Good Luck!

Take some water as warm as you can stand it, and put as much salt as you can stand. Gargle with that salt water a few times tonight, and your voice should be strong by tomorrow.

I heard somewhere that honey is supposed to be good for your throat. Maybe some hot tea and honey?
