Great song, but don't take it's social constructionist and relativistic message to heart. Pink Floyd seems to get it's information on human behavior from post-modernists; not scientists.

I guess you are referring to psychological problems created by the mother ?
A mother is usually closest to a child. Dad's are away for most of the day working , that's why a mothers influence is so high.
