Hi there SMTP stands for Simple Mail Tranfer Protocol and is the "protocol" used to send mail out from a server.

POP, POP3, IMAP are incoming protocols used to retreive your email.

Yahoo:

Incoming mail server - pop.mail.yahoo.com

Outgoing mail server - smtp.mail.yahoo.com (Use port 587 or 25)

Hotmail - Select HTTP as the server type and you should be able to choose hotmail as your account and go from there.
