On February 23rd, 2007, Del James announced that Chinese Democracy's recording stage was finished, and the band had now moved onto mixing the album. However, this proved that the March 6th release date was now impossible to achieve, and the album once again has no scheduled release date.

Chinese Democracy has been in production for almost ten years at a cost of over $13 million, making it the most expensive unreleased album ever recorded.
