I started taking the birth control pill last year so that it can make my periods easier to handle. I am not sexually active (sorry, but sixteen is waaaaay too young to have sex) and I noticed that there was a little tiny bit of blood in my underwear (very little amounts) but I am only on my second week of taking my pill which means that my period doesn't start for another two weeks. Is this normal? It's never happened to me before and so I am a little concerned (rude comments will be ignored). Thanks.

Good for you for saying that sixteen is too young for sex! I wish that I could see more teenagers realizing that! Yes, it's normal. The birthcontrol pill acts in funny ways. If you're very concerned about it though, how about asking your mother (or an adult you trust) or, even better, your doctor who prescribed the birthcontrol pill for you.

Are you under extra stress lately? Did you have the flu or anything? Many things can cause spotting. I'd go to the doctor who prescribed them if it happens again next month or gets to be heavier than spotting because perhaps your body is changing and you're getting breakthrough bleeding from too low a dose of the hormone. I wouldn't worry, though, it's probably nothing but stress.

Make sure you're not taking any antibiotics with it. When I started taking birth control (for the same reason as you) I was also on Minocycline, an acne medicine, and it made me bleed for 2 weeks before I realized why.
