Get on the net and contact the manufacturer of your condensing unit. More often than not, the manufacturer's website will have a pdf file you can download. Just in case there is no pdf file available, copy the model and serial numbers off of the condensing unit, contact the manufacturer or the distributor, and either one will be able to get you what you need.

Depending on the brand of unit, most come with a manufacturer warranty of some sorts (5 yr. parts or 6 yr. parts). I suggest getting the model and serial number off the unit and calling the local HVAC distributors (where he purchased the unit) and see if they can provide you a book. Check your local yellow pages for the brand name and call the company who sold them the unit.

He should have also put his warranty in writing on your estimate.

Contact the manufacture of your system, then report this guy to the BBB. They Give HVAC Companys a bad name

I AM IN THE HVAC BUSINESS. I WOULD SUGGEST CONTACTING THE MANUFACTURER ALL YOU NEED IS THE SERIAL # OFF OF THE UNIT.AND ALSO, IT SOUNDS LIKE YOUR GUY IS KINDA SHADY, I WOULD GET A MORE REPUTABLE CONTRACTOR.SOMETIMES (ESPECIALLY IN HVAC) YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR. GOOD LUCK!!!
