He looks fine in the pictures. 28 inches seems long, but in the picture he doesn't look that tall and he definately doesn't look "fat" or huge. But he is reeeaaallllllyyyy CUTE!

You know he is pretty long for his age, but he doesnt look fat by any means. His weight looks proportinate to his height. If your pediatrician isnt worried I wouldnt be either. Babies change so much, so fast, that by his next visit he might have even gone down on the growth curve. Also by the time they start crawling and walking, they tend to lose a little anyways.

My little guy was 10lbs 15oz when he was born (i had gestational diabetes). Now at his 9 month check up he weighs 20lbs and is on the small end of the growth chart! It will all even out once your baby starts crawling, wait until he starts he will be a blur before long.

Hi My son was 25 pounds and 29 inches at 4 months. He is now 2 and is 32 pounds his doctors say he is just going to be a big boy. I have had looks like that too. But most of mine end in what are u feeding him and you need to put that kid on a diet . My son was only 6 pounds and 11 ozs when he was born. was your son that small too?

Hmm he doesn't look big but 28 inches is long at four months , and he is cute and definitely not fat. My daughter was at four month 18 lb and 26 inches long and she was born 22 1/2 inches long and now she is 12 1/2 month old and 32inches long and 26 weight. So don't think your baby is big mean fat he is just tall and beautiful baby.

I have not looked at the baby picture yet- but I'm sure he is precious. I heard something recently about soy baby formulas breaking down in the digestive system like how monosodium glutamatebreaks down causes too much weight gain. I have two teenage boys and when they were babies the oldest was breast fed the younger formula fed. My youngest was on soy for a week or so and I think did not like the smell of it or something and I'm so glad went back to I believe Enfamil regular? Congratulations on your litttle bundle of joy!

i wouldn't worry about his size at all.. My son was the same way.. he is 3 years old now and is over 3 ft tall and weighs 45 lbs.. he is solid, he eats very healthy and he has a TON of energy.. My husband is 6'4" and so are the rest of his siblings.. so if your family members are quite tall than you can guarantee that your son will be the same..

Your son is beautiful! whatever you are doing - keep it up..
When it comes time to trying a variety of foods and liquids, I recommend to avoid the juice.. its an unnecessary sugar that wouldn't help his weight gain.. and he can get the nutrients from regular fruits instead..

boys grow at remarkable speeds..

I think he looks perfect! What a cutie. All three of my kids are tall for their ages. As long as he is healthy, and active you dont have anything to worry about. When my daughter was a baby you couldnt even tell she had a neck and now she is a super thin eight year old. Your baby will be fine.

no thats around where my son was hes not huge and it all slows down eventually my son is 22 months now and he still weighs about 30 pnds he was 24 at 7 months but he has gotten a TON taller and if he is big he'll probably start doing stuff soon and he'll keep growing but remain the same weight once hes all busy and super active

He is a very big baby, but THERE IS NOTHING WRONG with him. As long as he isn't FAT, he's fine. My daughter was also very long and heavy as a baby, and she's still very tall. Don't think of it something bad, like he's TOO BIG, think of it as something to be proud of, because he wouldn't be growing like that if you weren't taking EXCELLENT care of him! Congratulations!

And here is something which may help ease your worries. It is a pdf of the official clinical growth chart for boys from birth to 3 years in the U.S.

No. It's not big. He's heavy, but in relation to his height he's fine. My baby was 25 inches long and 14 lbs at his 2 month check-up.
