I know that the Supremes won as a group in 1975 but I was wondering if any solo artist has I was thinking of Ray Charles.

January 1996 – honored by the Academy of Country Music with its prestigious Pioneer Award
October 4, 2000 – inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame

Charley Pride's voice is unique among all the Country vocalists and one I enjoy hearing. I remember when back in the mid-1950s he finally made it big enough to show the world his face.

It had set the Grand Ole Opry and the album buyers back on its heels, but they sprang back and kept Charley for years onward.
