The hardest thing about Latin is learning the noun endings. Because the forms of nouns are different depending on the part of speech, which isn't done in English, it can be confusing at first. If you don't know the parts of speech in English, Latin is going to be quite tricky. But if you do, then there's some rote memorization to learn these endings, but after that it's no harder than other languages.
One nice thing is that you don't really have to worry about pronunciation. Since it's a dead language, it's really only written, not spoken. So no one will ever tell you that your Latin accent is crummy.

Latin is very grammar intensive. It is an inflected language, which means that the ending of a word changes depending on how it is used in a sentence.

Puer puellam amat = the boy loves the girl
Pueri puellas amant = the boys love the girls
Puerum puella amat = the girl loves the boy
Pueros puellae amant = the girls love the boys

You must have an excellent grasp of grammar, otherwise when you get to the point where you are translating clauses, you will find it very difficult.

YES... yes it is. The only good thing about Latin is you don't have to worry about proper pronunciation since nobody living still speaks it. You will learn lots of root words to English, French, German, Italian and Spanish, along with lots of legal and medical terms.

The Romans didn't think so. ;-)

It's actually easier than Spanish, French and other languages that are based on Latin because it's in its pure form and you should find that the complicated exceptions aren't as numerous.
