well 120 yards is how many feet? (120x3) .... multiply that by the width in feet... (53 x3),....{add the 1/3 yard or foot}.... then multiply that number by the depth of the lava in feet..................................... (75 x lenght in feet x width in feet) that many cubic feet per day of lava.

first, you must convert all your data to the same form of measurement, which will be feet since you're looking for cubic feet; since you have 75 feet as your depth, just multiply all of your yardage figures by 3 since there are 3 feet in a yard: 120 yards = 360 feet; 53 1/3 yards = 160 feet; and your depth is already at 75 feet.

so to get your answer you multiply: 360 x 160 x 75
therefore... your answer is 4,320,000 cubic feet... quite a bit of lava i'd say.

why did you folks do the math for the questioner?

what did he learn from this?

That its easier to get someone to answer for him than learn how to do the problem himself?

You could have helped him more by saying "cubic is length times width times height; a yard is 3 feet. Go for it"
