Well, don't hit right in the "corner of the jawbone", where bone strength is the greatest, with your knuckles, which is probably what you did. You're supposed to hit the flat of the cheek with the flat of your fingers, just below your knuckles. As good practice, slam your fist against steel light poles, and learn what works and what should be avoided.

Simple
Dont hit them outside of a ring
When in the ring make sure your hands have been properly strapped and you are wearing gloves
As far as parts of the head to avoid, the only part of the head I tried to avoid like the plague was hitting an opponent on the top of the head if he had his head down and was trying to get to the inside.
The bones of the hand are relatively fragile and were not designed to punch so even when you take these precautions, damage can still occur.

depends , are you right handed or left handed. If you are right handed -punch him in the nose. If you are left handed, punch him in the nose.Or the best place to punch him is the nose!!! I suggest to give him a tissue before, so his buggers wont get on your hand.
My suggestion is: GET A HAIRCUT! then less people will bully you and you don't have to commit a sin ! When was the last time you went to church?

But be careful. If you don't put him away first,
a broken hand might be the least ofyour worries.
