Money has come up a lot lately, for numerous reasons, but the most recent cause is my department trying to find an admin. All this talk of qualifications, pay scale, etc…and suddenly I realized how little I make. Not only that, I went online and found a salary finder based on job title and area and let me tell you, I am making $10K-20K less than I should be and probably more considering what I’ve been working on for the last year. But what can I do? My company was just bought and now “budgeting” is a bigger concern than ever before. I don’t want to leave, but I am expected to do more and more all of the time. My review isn’t until August. I do get a bonus every quarter and I always get the max (15% of three months of my income). I don’t place my confidence in my paycheck, but it is a little surprising that some of the people I manage make more than I do. I need some sound corporate advice.

You really have only a couple of choices. You can hang in there, and see if the new owners are able to turn it around. It could take some time though.

Your other option is to leave, and hope that someone else out there is paying more.

I will say this however, the market is pretty tight right now. You have a good job, and you seem pretty happy there. You mentioned that you usually get max bonus, so I can only assume that you must be doing something right.

There is more to a job than just the paycheck. All of the money in the world will not compensate for a "crappy" job.

Weigh your options, and make an "educated" decision, and not one just based on a website statistic.
