I agree with ^. Most of us know we're "different" upon first meeting a large group of kids; usually preschool or kindergarten. We learn we're actually homosexual somewhere between preteens and Young Adulthood, depending on how early we get into the dating scene. Some of us, like myself, try faking straight until it just doesn't work anymore. Others know they're gay and have gay relationships from their first to their last. It's different from case to case.

I always knew I was very different from other boys. Didn't put two and two together until I noticed what got me hard...
BTW: the term 'homosexual' has been adopted by many who wish to oppress gay people. Their reasoning is that homosexuality (in their minds) is not an orientation, but an act. They also hate using the word 'gay' because a) that is how we refer to ourselves and b) they refuse to believe that any gay person could actually be happy (ie 'gay')
So, please, unless you are using the word ironically, use the term 'gay' instead.
I don't mind hearing 'gay boy' or 'gay guy' or 'gay man' or even 'queer.' But whenever I read 'homosexual' I think: there they go again, those right-wing religious nutjobs...

I've always known I was attracted to guys. I knew even before puberty. I just figured out I am "gay" when I first heard the term and the modern meaning behind it.

it happened when i was 11, my friends were watching lesbian porn and it just wasnt workin, a year after i started checking guys out, i learned how to "satisfy urges" and would fantisize of guys, when i was 13 i was looking at gay porn, and from there i grew into it, its not as bad as people say, its just who you wanna see when you come home from work, or meet in a bar, i dont see the need for *****, meaning very flamboyant, i like guys but i dont want to be a girl. That answer it?

I think most people realize around puberty because that's when sexual attraction really kicks in. Which is also the same time heterosexual people realize their orientation again because sexual attraction has kicked in. Before that you get crushes, or might know somethings different but you can never really put your finger in it until you start to get curious about sex, and rarely does a person get curious about sex before puberty.

I've always known.I didn't know what it was called or what it was, but i knew that i liked girls since pre-school. I started to understand what homosexuality was when was about 8 so that's when i started to understand what i was feeling and that's when i knew that i wasn't like everybody else.

I have a friend that knew his son was gay by the time the kid was 3 years old. The kid didn't know it until he hit junior high.
