If he's still around, take Johan Santana. If Santana goes number one, go with Ryan Howard number 2. Howard's younger than Pujols and coming off a better year. Pujols had his career year last year. Howard should have his this year, meaning that he should hit 62 home runs and further discredit the steroids led to home runs myth (far higher percentages of pitchers used roids and the only thing that everybody being on roids would do is improve fielding, dropping batting averages, as we've found out with the increases in offense the last 2 years).
Santana's the most dominant player compared to his position of the top players. Howard's the best offensive player.

Take Alfonso Soriano. Don't listen to someone who says take a pitcher. This is because a pitcher plays every other five days where a positional player plays daily. You can get more out of a positional player like Alfonso too. He should go 40-40 this year with a .275+ batting average. 40 HRs, 100+ RBIs, 40 stolen bases. This guy can even be a first round pick. He is amazing.

What John Doe says. Quit asking obvious questions and think of something more than fantasy baseball and try getting out of your moms basement besides going out to get her packs of Camel straights, and giving her bunion massages. Holy Cow does anyone come up with interesting questions besides Pete Rose and the HOF or the greatest baseball player ever!!!!!

definately either johan santana or ryan howard. johan santana is the greatest pitcher in the league by a long shot, and with everybody focused on pujols give a clear opportunity to snag johan. it will not be in vein. However, if you want a batter, choose the other superstar first baseman. only 1 year's time got him 58 homers, and he's only bound to improve. with a over .300 average also, he's foolproof.

I'd go with Ryan Howard. Only him and Pujols have that two power hitters in one production.
