like feminists for example. (I know I'm going to get bashed by a few users for saying this.)

Tanks, I think if you really look at the answers from REAL feminists, you will see that they DO accept the differences, good AND bad. I've never believed that men and women are exactly the same, just that we are equal in WORTH. It's just that some people want to say that women are inferior, (like that we "whine" too much, or that we are intellectually inferior, or that we are not "good enough" or that we are not equal, [socially equal, not "mathematically" equal]) that we take offense to...and rightly so. Those are broad generalizations, and insulting to ALL women. You don't like it when someone generalizes about men in a negative way, either. So why would we "accept" that?

Why can't some people stop generalizing about what feminists are? Lots of feminists, male and female notice there are "differences" between the genders, you'd have to be blind not to. Why can't "some people" accept that many feminists do accept the differences between men and women? Why can't "some people" accept that feminists are actually different, unique individual people, and don't have a party line, just like men are unique, and they don't all agree what is a "good" man.

What good differences? Every time I hear about differences between the genders, I can think of ten exceptions off the top of my head. That's why I don't accept any major differences: it boxes us up too much and prevents people from truly being who they are. Why should I accept them when it means denying that my best guy friend in college was way better at the emotional stuff than I am, and that my brother has better fashion sense, but I have a better sense of direction and my mom loves football?

"Men Are From Mars, Women From Venus " by John Gray is an excellent book that describes men and women's differences in an educational way not bashing either gender. I wish that it was a mandatory read in schools. Perhaps for opposite sex haters we should all recommend this book.
P.S. I believe that feminism is about equality. Neither gender should be superior over the other. It is too bad that some women have given the word "feminism" a bad name just as some men have created a bad name for themselves as well.

Feminists need to stop trying to feminize men, and accept that men and women are different. Both genders have their own special unique attributes. Feminists also need to stop trying to be like men and take the "hunter & gatherer" role that God intended for men.

I don't know why. Isn't variety great. And feminist was about giving rights and a voice to woman that they so deserved, not tearing down men. Giving the right to women to choose a path for their lives. I think that feminism has deviated

Because even though there are AVERAGE differences, they are never true for everyone. Talking about differences between men and women implies that the differences between ALL men and ALL women. This is unfair for the men and women who don't fit in to the average model.

i wish you'd explain a bit more, as i don't know what "good differences" you may be referring to.

i just want there to be equal respect and equal opportunity for both genders in general, because each individual has their own set of strengths and weakness that are not necessarily gender specific. but to be honest, there are fewer differences between men and women in general than there are between individuals.

for example, men can be great fathers, very nurturing to young infants, and keep immaculate houses. some women aren't, and cannot. now, these traits are often seen as 'female' traits, but they shouldn't.
certain differences just aren't there. and to assume they are hurts both genders.

Because they don't believe what they have been told is true and want to rebel against something that they see as oppressive, which is nothing new in the history of the world; teenagers do it and rebellions happen all the time. Furthermore, some people have been deluded into thinking that biology isn't important either because they don't understand it or simply don't want to factor it in for political or social reasons. Whatever; let those people keep screaming about total equality if they wish, because it can never truly happen.

(Note that total equality would include physical and emotional equality among other things, not just legal equality.)
