What are the good areas of Amarillo? Which ones are the bad areas? Are there any apartments in the nice areas that accept government funding for renting? Feel free to add what ever you think is relevent.

Amarillo, Texas is the 14th largest city in the country. Route 66 passes through it. I would say the best areas are those outwards from the downtown area. As to the government funding I couldn't find anything. The population is about 78% white, c. 11% pacific islander and c.22% hispanic. These are the major ethnic groups. There's also a good university/college. You could try calling the apartment owners on the site below. Good luck in your new home!
