I often see crochet afghans in the flea market, they do sell. only thing is that I doubt that they make the amount of money that would reflect the amount of time they take....But, to get paid to do something you might be doing anyway, it is worth it. at least it will pay for the yarn.
ps have you noticed that set decorators, and movie people, like to use homemade items to add to the design of their sets? if you can convince your market that these blankets are upscale, and use good yarns, you may make your money back and then some!

I doubt you'd be able to sell them at a profit if that's what you're asking. And you may have to invest quit a bit of time into selling them. It is possible, but time consuming and unprofitable. If it's the making of them that you enjoy...why not make baby blankets to donate to local shelters or hospitals? I think JoAnn Fabrics participates in that Warm Up America that allows you to do squares for blankets for the homeless. Just some thoughts.

You'll never get your time when you sell them. People don't appreciate the time that goes into making crocheted things.

It is hard to get enough money to compensate for your time, but you could give it a try. (make sure to get a deposit on special orders! Especially if the colors or pattern are unusual)
To answer your question, no I wouldn't buy one because I crochet, but if you designed a pretty and unique pattern I'd consider buying that.

Yes I would buy them - (I am older and appreciate the work that goes into them.).. If you want to do this - you might also add washcloths of 100% cotton yarn, house slippers and other things that have no special size. Then start going to Craft Shows to sell them. Good Luck!!
