I've used tampons for 30 years and haven't had any problems. TSS is mainly associated with higher absorbency tampons so you should use the lowest absorbency you need and change more frequently. Also, don't leave one in for a long time.

...I've personally never heard of bleached tampons. Just buy tampax, they're a good trusted brand. If you make sure you change the tampon at most every 8 hours then you shouldn't have to worry about TSS, it's not very common to get it, but thats why you don't leave one tampon in for like 18 hours.

there are very tiny risks with using tampons(of any kind), as long as you use them correctly you should be fine. the diaper feeling is not great is it!!! plus you can go swimming etc with tampons if you want to, its much more convenient and cleaner! try it a couple of times and see how you find them, you wont want to use pads again.

Honestly, I have never heard of bleached tampons but they sound ill! Just stick to Tampax or Playtex. They're pretty good!

It is safer to use the not bleached kind.
Just change tampons regularly, that diminishes the risks of everything.
