If my parent is unable to completely care for themself I would do that. It would allow them to have someone all the time that could help them. Of course, I would make sure that it was a good, safe, clean place. And I would go see them as often as possible.
(at least once a week)

I'd say "thanks, kids".

Caring for the elderly and infirm is a tough job. At least with kids, you see them grow and learn and expand themselves. It's got to be worse when all you see is a downward spiral into death, especially if it's someone like your parents who used to be independent, capable and strong.
