Well, i know alot of HERBAL teas should be avoided when pregnant. Almost all of them will say not to use while pregnant of nursing. There are alot of teas that are good for you when you are pregnant, herbal teas, specialty for pregnant woman. Then there are the teas you can drink once yu hit 38 wks. to help go into labor. I would be careful with any tea though. Check the labels and talk to your dr. Also you can google "herbal teas for pregnant women". But if you heard the mint tea is no good, i would stay away from it no matter what! no tea is worth that risk! Plain old decaffeinate tea tastes just as good:) Good luck.
oh, i forgot to answer.....stress can cause a miscarriage....but DO NOT blame it on that! For morning sickness, the store Motherhood sells these morning sickness lollipops that have ginger in them (a natural way to ease nasea) and they really did the trick for my sister! or ginger ale and crackers also can help.

I don't know if mint tea is harmful or not, but if you are worried about it, I would try just normal peppermints and spearmints. Ginger is also very soothing to the stomach. I know there is such a thing as ginger tea so maybe that can help. When i had the morning sickness I used the spearmints and peppermints. Spearmint gum was good too. I also took scented dryer sheets to help with any smells that would make me nauseous.
I drank green tea when I was pregnant and it never harmed me or my daughter

You didn't cause you miscarriage by drinking any kind of tea, mint, herbal or otherwise. Miscarriages cannot usually be attributed to one factor in a person's life. It is true that caffiene can have adverse affects on the body, but it is not directly associated with miscarriages. Stress can also cause miscarriages, but there are many women in stressful situations who carry babies to term. Each of us are individuals. I doubt anyone will ever be able to tell you exactly why your body terminated the pregnancies it has, but I can tell you that it is most likely not your fault. these things just happen and I am sorry for your loss. Enjoy the children that you have and I hope you can work through this anguish in a healthy and timely fashion.

I'm sure you talked with your doctor already? I'm no expert, but I do think stress has more to do with it.
I had 2 early term miscarriages. First time, I didn't know I was pregnant and took on 6 week project at work that I knew would be stressful that involved flying. The second time, I was under alot of emotional stress due to family issues.
When I found out I was pregnant again, my work was great and didn't put me major projects when I told them and my personal life was better. I didn't feel stress. I drank caffiene free peppermint tea that helped with my morning sickness. My baby was fine when she was born.

My middle daughter just gave birth to her third child. Her OBGYN told her not to take anything herbal. She said that the effects on a pregnancy had not been studied and she was not comfortable with it. I do know of a woman that drank green tea all the time and she miscarried and her OBGYN said that her patient that drank green tea had a higher miscarry ratio than those that did not. She drank quite a bit of it though.
I would talk to the doctor about all of this. I would not try anything that might even be questionable. It is better to be safe than sorry.

I have never heard of mint causing a miscarriage. I ate mint Tums for the last 4 months of my pregnancy and nothing bad happened from it. I would stop blaming yourself for your miscarriage. As far as stress, again, my father died suddenly, when I was 5 months pregnant, I was also in a car accident when I was 5 weeks pregnant. (the mint, stress, and car accident were all during the same pregnancy). My son was born perfectly healthy. Sometimes miscarriages just happen and nobody knows why. It's not anyone's fault it just happens.
