Nothing, Texas is the only state that has a legal right to succession. Any other state that attempted to cede from the union would brought back in by force. This and the lose of States rights are the two negatives of the outcome of the Civil War.

Nothing! We fought the Civil War over this same issue & over 600 thousand men died in that war, it won't happen again!
No state will ever decide to try that, ever. In the first place why would they? United we stand, divided we fall! What one state or even several states would want to try & go it alone given world conditions! We learned our lesson well, it won't happen again!

Immigration. Latinos have a huge population base in the western states. Conservative immigration policies are really starting to piss them off.
