Sorry, SouthernLady - I tried that and it didn't work. In fact, it has gotten even worse, so "killing with kindness" is no longer an option.

I cannot possibly avoid this person, as much as I would like to.

You really haven't supplied much in the way of details. Is this person a relative? A stepparent? Your boss? A co-worker? A stepsibling or sibling? A classmate?

All I can tell you is not to kill them with kindness. Treat them the same you treat everyone else. If it's your boss or a co-worker then you should file a grievance against them with your personnel office. If it's a parent, stepparent, sibling or stepsibling; then just remember that your living situation is only temporary and work towards finding your own place or staying with someone else -if that is an option for you. Emancipation -if it is recognized where you live- is also an option.

Truly without more to go on I really cannot answer this question the way it deserves.
Depending on your adversary usually the best way to get to the bottom of a situation like this is to just ask them what it is about you OR what you've done that makes them dislike you so much.

Try to avoid them as much as possible. Try to also remember that they obviously have serious issues that is making them do this to you. If there is no way of avoiding this person, and they are stepping over legal boundries, try to gather as much evidence over time to make a case against them, and take them to court. My mom has this problem with her supervisor. She plans her time off around his, and she has had to see a therapist because he is truly narcasistic and tries to get her fired constantly. People think that she is crazy for not quitting her job, but she needs money to live. She has been at her job for over 26 years, and her supervisor has only been around for 2 years. I hate to see her like this, and so she does everything she can to deal with the situation. Ignore this person as much as you can, and be sure to talk to people you trust about it to relieve some of the tension. You are probably dealing with a narsacist. Good luck.

you haven't given enough information to give an answer, if it is some one at work , find another job. You seem to feel that you have a target on your back, but just can't help in this case

Easy.Just stick their head in thte toilet and give it a good flush.
No really. Is it a parent? You might want to TRY to see things from THEIR point of view and be honest with yourself. They ARE(believe it or not) looking out for your BEST intrest and they have already been where YOU are.If it isnt a relative, try the toilet thingy!

okay i have the same situation.
just stay calm. if they start bothering you, grit your teeth and clench your fists;; something that could keep you busy from exploding.
if that doesnt help, tell them to give you some space.

let them know that you do not like it but also not let it show that it's getting to you, and let them know that it won't be tolerated or there might be something harsh done if they keep it up.. one cannot roll over and take it unless it's absolutely necessary you should stand up and face it

Be as nice to them as you possibly can. Don't let them know they're bothering you & eventually they'll get bored.
