Congrats on turning 18, and good job registering to vote. You should be happy to be a part of the process, and it's good to research the candidates and know who will be on your local ballot as well as the widely known national races.
In 2008 I will vote for Mitt Romney.

If you will just turn 18 at election time that gives you plenty of time to do some research. Listen to what each candidate says. Whatch their eyes you can see if they are lying. Watch news see the crowd reactions then just before election if you have narrowed it down ask one or two people whose opinion you trust and go from there. Continue research on the general election. If you live in a state with caucuses you will want to caucus and listen to the others there and what they have to say about each candidate.

Congratulations on your soon-to-be right to vote! Make sure you use it, because it IS your voice in this country.

Now the bad news. So many states are looking at holding their primaries on the same day (Feb. 5) that we voters probably won't have the chance to make informed judgements before we vote. The big names (e.g. Clinton, McCain) will hog all the advertising air time, while candidates with less money (e.g. Richardson, Huckabee) won't get any sunshine at all. Guess what happens in that situation?

But vote, and vote for someone YOU really support. Don't let the media, in either party, tell you who "will" win and make you vote that way.

Oh yeah - I'm leaning toward Richardson.

I will turn 18 two months before, so I will have no vote in the primaries. I will vote for either Obama or Hillary, whoever gets the Democratic nod.

Personally, I like Obama. Not only do I like his views on policy, but I love listening to him speak. He just conveys more power than Hillary.

With the current slate of candidates? Undecided! However if the field of candidates does not improve drastically, I will vote for Elmer Fudd for President with Daffy Duck as his running mate (as a protest).

The candidates that have thrown their hats in the ring so far do not impress me one bit.

We should have the right to vote for "none of the above" for every elected office! In the event that "none of the above" wins the election ... all parties who had a candidate in the original election would have 60 days to find a new candidate, the office would remain unfilled until some candidate won the popular vote!

RON PAUL. He'll bring home our troops, keep them there and stop this policing of the world. He wants to end the North American Union from completion. He's pro-life, anti-war, pro-constitutional rights to the people.

Wait until 2008 and then decide based on what you hear and learn about each candidate.
