I want to install a cooktop in an island cabinet in my kitchen. The cooktop is 30" wide. The range hoods that hang from the ceiling are typically 36" wide. Will this look ok since it hangs over on each side?

The hood hangs overhead so I doubt that 3" each side will be very noticeable. (and this isn't really a size match device anyway). Better too much than too little.

If you are asking the question on here, chances are you'll hate it. You'll think about it every time you cook. And if you don't cook, you'll think about it every time you get up for a midnight snack and you have to look at it.

If it is centred and hanging from the roof, I think it will look fantastic!

just overhang it 3'' on each side and it shoiuld look ok
