Your new thermostat is wired incorrectly. Open it back up and double check your wiring. Also make sure that the correct jumpers are removed. Do you have Air conditioning as well on this thermostat? If so, you have to look at the correct diagram in the wiring manual.

The thermo. is prob. wired wrong to get heat working for now make sure the RED wire is connected to the RH on the therm and the White is on the the W of the therm. this should atleast get the heat going if you have a A.C. you will have more wires to connect but you should check the instructions for the new therm.
If you want to email me the color wires you have and the letters on the therm. i can tell you how to wire it correctly

Our gas company comes out for free for that kind of call ,
Call yours and just tell them the ignitor won't lite . .
They will actually come soon because it is considered a safety hazard.

If you have a forced air heater with a/c the r/h and r/c terminals must be jumped out
