How do you protect your intellectual property internationally?

The copyright laws vary by country. but usually the ideas is if you created something yourself, as soon as it hits paper, it's copyrighted. If you write an article say for you webpage, you can write copyright and date at the bottom and its done. But I would still check with the copyright office.

should answer most of your questions. U.S. copyright law applies to the US, but the US is also part of the Berne Convention.
