What makes you think its a theory? Haven't you ever done something that you realized that the outcome would not come out like it is supposed to because the odds were stacked against you? Yet you were determined this something isn't difficult as presumed, because of what you thought was the method to pursue. It worked, didn't it? You therefore acted out your "theory" on the reality scale. It's been like that since the dawn of man.

Leibniz said that the mind is the perspective of the whole universe. Which is to say, that what you see, and how you interpret reality, is subjective, and that it comes from your impressions, as well as this no two people can share the same perspective, so each perspective is unique.

renee (rene?) descartes.

He said "i think, therefore i am"

and he didnt think that anything was more real than his existence. this was because he was thinking and he knew what he was thinking and therefore he didnt doubt he was real because he was real to himself by thought.

hope i didnt confuse you there.....

i agree with other people about it being a age old idea but it was descartes who is credited the most about this idea and probably because he put it into words and a thing to be discussed rather than just a thought floating around in the back of everyones mind.

I wouldn't call that a theory, but rather a truth.

It's too universal to be attributed to one single discovery by one single person.
