Hong Kong, United Kingdom, Singapore, or Australia?
I am able to get a work permit in one of these countries but I can't decide.
Don't tell me United States. I am American.

Please don't tell me about any other countries other than the four I wrote.

It depends on what you like.
Australia is nice, and sparsely populated. You can do and see a lot there. So if you want a bigger country I would say Australia.
Singapore is also very nice, very well organized, and is a really good hub if you want to travel around Asia. Forget what that person said about Americans in Singapore. I travel there a lot and there should be no problems, I found most people quite friendly. There is a good mix of cultures there.
UK is nice to visit, but cold and very expensive. Hong Kong I can't say as I've only been at the airport.
I would pick Singapore, and go to OZ on holiday.

None of them - go to New Zealand ;-) That is paradise.
And if you have to pick one of those above go to Australia because it is the closest to New Zealand.
Added later - yeah righto - I told you Australia. I have been to all the above countries except Hong Kong and I hear Hong Kong is like KL and I have been there - so go to Australia.

i would say australia, but i don't really have a reason. hong kong is pretty cool, too, but it would suck not to be able to read the street signs ;) UK is nice, too, but i wouldn't like all the rain. personally, i prefer the hot australian climate. singapore... i don't really know anything about singapore. but isn't that where they put you in jail for spitting on the street or leaving trash lying around? if it is, it would be to risky to live there. in my opinion. i mean, you would never know what you can be sent to jail for ;)

Well I would never live in Signapore! Do you know how much they hate Americans! A stiff dictator regime? No thank you.
If it was my choice I would pick Australia .I would love to live in Australia! I am an outdoors kind of guy and I would love traveling through the outback and seeing all the crocodiles, snakes, birds, spiders, and spectacular landscape.
