The sprint finish is satisfying... yes. However, the rewards are sweeter after the long, hard slog. Getting there is great... getting there and having earned the reward through dedication and perseverance is better.

It depends if you want a quick fix - a sprint finish but if you want a real worthwhile acheivement then the long hard slog. I have found that the quick sprint is ok at first but the more effort you put in the more rewarding it is in the long run so I would have to choose the long, hard slog - boy I must be getting old lol.

The long hard slog, putting the work in makes you really feel you've achieved something and makes its more worthwhile.

I prefer the pace of a marathon with a sprint finish at the end.

Both my fox friend; heavy ruck, numb hands, bloody jungle boots, socks from 4 hours ago not yet dry, barely able to move and yet I can go forever wallowing in this feeling and then... Every nerve in my body straining to kick the others in the *** on the way to the end, straing, grunting, feeling myself exploding into a rush of pain free conquest over myself! Then of course I fall into a lump of crap at the finish, but as I said I like them both.
