You have a leak in your house. Every time I have seen large infestations, it is accompanied by a leak. Look at your roof. Look at your facade. Look around your windows. You have a water problem that caused a termite problem. Solving this leak will not effectively get rid of an existing colony. They will find another source of water, but it is a good start.

There is nothing you can do yourself really. The entire house needs to be treated by professionals. If you have termites you probably already have tens of thousands of dollars in damage to your home. Cut your losses and call a professional. If you own your home eventually you will have to fix the damage. You will never be able to sell it with that kind of damage.

Try getting a termite killing spray for home depot, walmart, or Lowes. It should have a hose that can be inserted in holes left by termites in your wall.

Hire a professional... it's worth it in the long run. Think about the investment you have made in your house and the cost of an exterminator is minimal in comparison.
