What do you think of the next fantasy epic The Golden Compass?

I don't think it'll be able to replicate the success of LOTR or HP. The "His Dark Materials" trilogy is more sci-fi than fantasy, if you actually read the books. I hope they don't ruin the original story as Hollywood tends to do. Though, I wouldn't mind seeing what special effects they use.

I loved the books, and I hope that they will keep it close to the books. I'm actually pretty excited for the movies.
