yes as long as its not to hot or it will kill it like 85 or so and make sure there is a cool spot so he can get out of the light and cool down

actually if you do not have some sort of other heat....this is crucial. hermit crabs need heat, and moisture!! it should be around 75-82 degrees F with a realativly high humidity. to maintain humidity i put a glass top over half of the aquarium and add coconut fiber to the sand. i use 50/50 mix, and i keep the sand about 2 and 1/2 inches high so they can burrow and shed properly.

Yes in fact it is a must, they need light for 12 hours a day approx.
remember they come from troical areas and need light for proper molting cycles and for metabolisim of food.

Monitor both the humidty AND temperature and keep them both within range...

76-82 degrees F
76%-83% relative humidity.

My dad has had Bubbles for almost 2 years and we have a light. I dont think there is anything wrong with it.
