He's 10wks old and we've moved from Texas(very humid) to Montana(very dry). Now his scalp is dry, and flakey. Not like the way cradle cap is described, it's not yellow and thick, just the normal flakey scalp, and he does have some hair too!!! I've tried lotion but that just makes his hair greasy and doesn't seem to help much! Thanks!!!!

baby oil and vasaline will only clog his pores.

try using a little olive oil on his scalp. it will allow it to breathe and give it a little mositure. dont worry his cradle cap will go away in time.

Congrats on your little bundle! :)

It may be the change in water.

My husband and I moved when my son was 6 months and he suddenly got the worst cradle cap. Turns out, we moved from soft water to hard water and it was irritating his skin.

I would check to see what kind of water you have. A simple water softener turned out to be the best cure for us.

Gentle Naturals eczema baby wash is GREAT too.

Good luck!

try baby oil and a toothbrush it works on cradle cap and another thing cradle cap isn't always yellow and it can cause a baby's head to be very sore if you'll put the baby oil on your baby's head and take a soft bristled toothbrush and go against his hair (brush backwards)it'll help i promise

My son has the same problem. My pediatrician suggested using Head and Shoulders dandruff shampoo twice a week. It's really helped. Just make sure you don't get in his eyes since it's not tear free!

And get him a humidifier for his room, that will help when he sleeps. My doctor recommended cetaphil lotion for our daughter, she had really dry skin and scalp.

you can try rubbing baby oil or vaseline on his scalp. The vaseline should work since it works wonderfully for chapped lips.
