I cant get enough or Final fantasy and legend of zelda. give me mario, katamari damacy even super smash brothers and the first worms Armageddon!! I'll be all giggles- but I'm one of the very few girls I know like that. so i have three questions:
1. Out of your friends- how many are girl gamers?
2. why do you think that is?
3. do you think that will change or has changed?

1) Out of all my friends, I only have two who are gamers like myselves. My guy friends are all big gamers though, but my two closest friends are the only ones who like them besides me.
2) I guess its not seen as a 'girly' thing to do. It is sterotyped to be a guyish thing, but its not. Its just another gender sterotyped hobby that stems from childhood. It's like sports are only for boys and not girls, and guys shouldn't cook.
3) I think its changing now though. More games for girls are being released as well as more lead characters being girls too. I think the latest statitisic says that 1/3 gamers are girls now.
Btw, I love Final Fantasy and mario and Zelda too, they're all great games. I've been playing video games since I was three and I'm nearly 20 now.

Well I am a girl and I love love love gaming!! I have only 2 friends like me. There should be more of us. I think most girls think that its a boy thing. Well me and my 2 game girl friends are often can be better at it then our bros! I can say that I used to think that gaming was stupid. That was because I never tried it. When I got a taste if it, I loved it!! One day all the girl gamers will rise and show the boys that we arent all clothes and gossip.

1. None of my friends are girl gamers.
2. They have different hobbies than I do or are addicted to celebreality tv on VH1. Once in a while they will play a game with me though.
3. No, after about twenty minutes they are ready to do something else.

I know I have a few friends that are girls...
I have about three or four... ones that enjoy some games... not all..
Most girls cant just sit around and waste time playing a game... They would much rather waste time spending money or hanging out with friends doing the same thing...
I dont think it will change... Guys are all visual... we like games, and movies... while girls like social stuff...

I'm a girl and I LOVE the Legend Of Zelda, Super Smash Bros, and I can beat any guy at Mario Kart Double Dash for gamecube. I'm just cool like that. But my friends just like the little games you can play on yahoo! (insaniquarium, diner dash, cubis 2) which don't get me wrong, I like them too, but the games for Gamecube and Twilight Princess for Wii are my favs.

Hello!
I'm a girl gamer. I play RuneScape and used to play Achaea, a text based mud.
I know at least 3 other female players
Females tend to be more social than males, and as someone said earlier would rather be in mall or school or somewhere socialising.
Odd thing is, I started gaming to socialise online, and while i enjoy questing and bashing mobs.....the main reason why I play MMORG's and MUD's are to socialise.

i'm a girl gamer!!! i just love playing playstation, gameboy and pc.... like sims 2, urbz..pokemon,final fantasy( luv that too) and other more, out of my friends i have at least 4 female friends that are into games, mostly in playstation.... many girls now play games like those.. so i wish that won't change..!! ^_^
