why sims2 game is slow to shut down?

When I save my game to shut down for the night, it takes forever, I end up having to wait a good 10 minutes for it to finally save and shut down the sims2 game.

Start-Run

Type: dxdiag

Look at your system settings, compared to the minimum settings of the game. If your settings are lower, theres the reason why the game is slow to shut down.
