I had a HUGE one too. I actually went to the doc to get advice so it wouldn't scar. Here's the verdict: wash gently with Ivory soap twice a day, don't pick it, or put anything else on it, let the scab fall off on it's own...even if it is hangin' there. The scab is protecting it. You want to let the layers of skin exfoliate. So, don't put polysporin or anything like that on it, otherwise, the skin won't exfoliate as quickly. When it falls off on it's own, you may have a red mark. This is very raw, sensitive skin, so stay out of the sun. Wear a hat if you have to. It's important to keep it clean and dry. Try and avoid moisturizers. The redness will fade on it's own if you follow this regime.

Do not use peroxide on it. try neosporin or something with vitamin E in it. Or you can buy vitamin E pills and break them open and rub that on it, they have to be the geltabs.
