This depends if you travel to another MetroPCS area or not. While in MetroPCS' coverage area, you will not incur extra charges. Basically, the MetroPCS home coverage areas are metro Atlanta, Detroit, Dallas/Ft Worth, and populated areas/highways in South Florida and Central California. If you travel outside this area, you will be roaming and access the Roamer Access Network which will let you make calls with a credit card for a couple of dollars per minute. Alternatively, MetroPCS has something called TravelTalk which can be enabled with a PRL upgrade either from your MetroPCS dealer or over the air by dialing *228. In addition, you must call MetroPCS (or visit your local dealer) to have the TravelTalk feature activated on your account. Their number is 1-888-8-METRO-8. Having this feature enabled is free. When you roam, you will be charged $0.49 - $0.79/minute depending on the carrier you are roaming on and whether long distance charges are incurred or not.
