We learn how to be the best person we can be, and how to think about something or someone other than ourselves. We learn how to open ourselves up. We may learn how to survive a great pain when you take a risk and get knocked back, or lose someone you've loved. We learn what all the other loved-up people are talking about and that words are never enough to express what we feel!

When you love 'somebody' you usually learn to be less selfish, as you care more about them than you do yourself.
I don't think it is possible to truly love 'something', if you do truly love 'something', I think it is very unhealthy as it can't possibly love you back.
