Yes! I have two names and they are hyphenated. My daughter has two names as well but it is a little different story. Her legal name is Marilyn but my in laws, who are from tunisia can her Amani. She responds to both. My husband has an even more "different" story than that. His legal name is Abderrazek- the short for Abderrazek is "Marzouga" (I Have NO IDEA why!), and when he came to this country when he was 7- they gave him the american name "Abby". He responds to ALL three and it is so confusing. So yes- you can go by two names...Hell! You can go by 3 names iif you want to. Name on, girl!

Sure. Just look at some actresses in Hollywood. There's Tiffany Amber Thiessen (although I hear she just goes by Tiffany now), Sarah Michelle Gellar, Sarah Jessica Parker, Mary Louise Parker, Mark Paul Gosselaar, just to name a few. Tons of people go by two names.

Yes. Be specific on the birth certificate. If the baby's name is Anne-Marie, Anne Marie or whatever (male or female), make sure you let them know so that it can be put in the place the first name would go or you may not get what you want.

And double check when the birth certificate is brought in for confirmation and your signature. Then sign.

Hope this helps!

I have known people with 4 Legal names. To make a legal name it must show on the birth certificate as such, most people will hyphenate

Of course. Remember Mary Lou Retton. I don't think that people just call her Mary.

Legally, you have to have one name you go by for legal purposes and for health records and such, but you can have an "alias" or an "AKA"
