I can't see why not. Last year they were able to put down the division winners twice when they were healthy. Showed up nicely to the Rams and well sucked against the Cardinals, but this is a new year. Defense will be majorly improved with great signings. The offense just needs some recievers and for Smith to just do better and they will be explosive and in not time will be back to the promised land.

I think that the 49ers will make it to the playoffs but as either a 5th or 6th seed. I predict a 9-7 record for the 49ers and second place in the division. This year is the year of the Rams, they will probably slip right by the 49ers at 10-6.
They have Frank Gore who is probably the second best running back in the NFC, only because he has a fumble just about every game. Alex Smith is starting to look less like a rookie and more like a experienced veteran. The 49ers also have some great recievers.

I think that they wil make the playoffs this year. They were incredibly close last year, but the Seahawks had taken care of business. The addition of Nate Clements and a good draft could put them in position to win the NFC West. Frank Gore has developed into an outstanding running back and Alex Smith will continue to grow with the team.

I think they should make the playoffs. Frank Gore's the best RB in the NFL and with Alex Smith maturing at QB, Frisco's on the verge of a Wild Card spot.
Mike Nolan's done a great job rebuilding that team, along with Mike Singletary. Too bad the two of them had to leave the Ravens, but I'm rooting for them to continue to succeed turning around the team that Dennis Erickson wrecked which looked like a hopeless situation when he took it over.

Although the 49ers appear to be on the rise, a lot of holes still need to be filled and personnel changes to be made on defense. The offense still could use another playmaker who can prevent defenses from focusing on RB Frank Gore and TE Vernon Davis and QB Alex Smith needs to become more consistent. To fill one of these holes on defense, they are considering drafting CB Leon Hall of Michigan with the 11th overall pick in the draft. Their secondary has struggled Hall is highly productive. He will be the first step in preparing to make the playoffs.

playing in the nfc helps and playing in a weak division helps even more. with that said, i think the 9ers will make it to the playoffs because they will win their division. we have 7 or 8 picks in the first 4 rounds. our 2ndary just got a lot better with the additions of clements and lewis. we already have pro bowler walt harris and killer keith lewis back there. we still have lawson and moore and just signed banta cain so that should help our LBs. we will have another great draft, i have no worries as long as nolan and mcloughin are in charge.
we signed lelie and we have a healthy vernon davis (who will do lots of damage to defenders) and we still have the NFCs best RB. we got a decent OLine and even without norv, we still hired from within, hostler, who knows the offensive scheme we ran last year.
we swept the seahawks last year, and we should have swept the rams, cards have our number but their oline still sucks.
we should go about 9-7 or better.

They have made what appears to be some decent aquistions recently that may help improve their defense and with the signing of Ashley liele, this should improve the offense. I think they have a good chance of going 10-6 and should make it to the playoffs.

The 49ers have made a couple big pick ups but it remains to see if thier chemistry will translate into more wins.. they have the potential to win.. but also still some holes to fill. i would say .500 team at best because they still have questions to answer

I don't think so..
It's really hard to turn around a situation like thiers.. they need help in the trenches on both sides of the line..
They need to have another great draft..
